1400m high alpine rock wall in the deep dark heart of South Western Tasmania. It's a 2 day walk in to the climbing and rather epic due to the muddy track.
Leave Sydney at 6am. Arrive carpark at Frenchmans at 3pm. Start packing from random selection of food purchased at Coles on the the way through! Not much planning went into this trip.
An example of too much stuff. Probably weighed about 30kg.
My back hurts already. By the end of this trip the waist band had broken so my poor shoulders took all the load.
Swing bridge fun
Franklin River
Beautiful day for a walk
Dying of heat exhaustion.
A brand new section of Dick Smith sponsored duck boards over the sodden loddens.
This was a forced smile.
Having to walk up a big hill - then walk back down the other side was a tad depressing.
First of the mud.
Without the duck board you would be waist deep in this quagmire.
Bush
Good training for stemming corners.
Leap of faith to avoid a dunking.
Familiar theme 6 hours into the first days walk.
Fallen over one to many times I stayed down.
It's just over that hill...
Photo taken whilst lying in the mud.
Potential food.
A lake.
A lake and its reflection.
Awesome chainsaw wood work and stone masonry featured along this walk.
A waterfall
A mossy plant.

Rainforest in a cold climate.
Tannin stained river
A cliff with no climbs on the walk in.
Water catchers.
Holy crap! The first view of Frenchmans. Looked very alpine with a little snow cap.
Still a bloody long way away when not using a telephoto lens.
Mountain and lake
A lake and some dead trees.
Wild cover photo #1
Unclimbed awesome looking arete.
So much rock - so much moss.
Wood starts to rot after a few years. They should make the track out of titanium.
Flower. It's red.
A botanical garden of exotic looking plants.
Lake near Frenchmans summit.
A view.
